The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League ended the 1989 season with a record of 9 wins and 9 losses for 18 points, finishing third in the CFL's West Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 3-0.

The Roughriders racked up 547 points, but the leaky defense conceded 567, most in the league. Kent Austin tossed for 2,650 yards, and Tom Burgess took a significant amount of snaps, too. Don Narcisse hauled in 81 receptions for 1,419 yards, while Timmy McCray provided receiving help also.

Timmy McCray ran for a team-high 1,285 yards for Saskatchewan.

Albert Brown picked off 8 errant tosses from the opposition. James Curry and Bobby Jurasin each topped the defensive unit with 16 quarterback sacks, topping a defense credited with 66 sacks.

John Gregory coached the team. The 1989 Saskatchewan Roughriders won the Grey Cup.
