The Angels scored 722 runs and gave up 779 runs. Fred Lynn led California with 22 home runs, while Brian Downing, Bobby Grich and Doug DeCinces each walloped 20 or more also. Fred Lynn recorded 74 runs batted in. Rod Carew topped all regular hitters by hitting .339. Bruce Kison, Ken Forsch and Tommy John paced the squad with 11 wins each, and Geoff Zahn recorded a 3.33 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
