John David Russell
Coaching Career: 1927-1947
Elected to Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964.

John Russell compiled a record of 143 wins and 217 losses in his coaching career with the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Indians, Camden Indians/Brooklyn Indians, Chicago Bruins, Newark Mules, Trenton Tigers, Westchester Indians/New York Gothams and Wilkes-Barre Barons. He began coaching during the 1927 season and last coached during the 1947 campaign. Russell was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964.
