The Baltimore Colts of the National Football League ended the 1953 season with a record of 3 wins and 9 losses, finishing fifth in the NFL's West Division.
Baltimore labored to change the scoreboard with just 182 points, while the shaky defensive squad allowed 350, most in the circuit. John Huzvar ran for a team-leading 515 yards for the Colts, and George Taliaferro additionally contributed to the rushing attack.
Fred Enke passed for 1,054 yards. Dan Edwards topped pass catchers, hauling in 35 balls, while George Taliaferro added 346 receiving yards. Mel Embree was targeted regularly, too.
The sticky-fingered defense created 56 turnovers, topping in the league. Tom Keane seized 11 opponent throws.
