The Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League ended the 1972 season with a record of 6 wins and 10 losses for 12 points, finishing fourth in the CFL's Western Conference.

The Stampeders scored 331 points, but the leaky defense surrendered 394, most in the circuit. Jerry Keeling tossed for 2,451 yards, and Jim Lindsey took a significant amount of snaps, too. Gerry Shaw led all receivers, grabbing 65 receptions for 1,002 yards. Rudy Linterman provided receiving help also.

Jesse Mims carried the ball for a team-high 728 yards for Calgary.

Frank Andruski intercepted 6 opponent throws.
