The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League ended the 1998 season with a record of 12 wins and 5 losses and 1 ties for 25 points, finishing first in the CFL's East Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 1-1.

The defense proved to be a force, as the Tiger-Cats led the league with just 351 points allowed. Hamilton scored 503 points. Danny McManus triggered the aerial attack, slinging for 4,864 yards. Darren Flutie led pass catchers, grabbing 98 receptions for 1,386 yards. Mike Morreale was targeted regularly, too.

Ron Williams carried the ball for a team-high 807 yards, and Archie Amerson also aided the ground game.

The ball-hawking defense manufactured 61 turnovers, topping in the league. Orlondo Steinauer snatched 8 opponent throws. Joe Montford topped the defensive unit with 21 quarterback sacks, leading the way for a team which created 51 sacks.

Ron Lancaster coached the team. The 1998 Hamilton Tiger-Cats lost in the Grey Cup.
