The Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League ended the 1988 season with a record of 14 wins and 4 losses for 28 points, finishing first in the CFL's East Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 0-1.
The defense proved to be a force, as the Argonauts led the circuit with just 397 points allowed. Toronto labored to change the scoreboard with just 344 points. Gilbert Renfroe triggered the aerial attack, passing for 4,113 yards. Darrell Smith paced the receiving corps, snagging 73 passes for 1,306 yards. Jeff Boyd was targeted regularly as well.
Gill Fenerty carried the ball for a team-best 968 yards.
Reggie Pleasant intercepted 7 opponent throws. Rodney Harding topped the defensive unit with 12 quarterback sacks.
Bob O'Billovich coached the team. The 1988 Toronto Argonauts lost in the Division Final.
