Jim McMahon passed for 2,184 yards, and Vince Evans spent time under center, too. Walter Payton topped pass catchers, hauling in 53 balls, while Willie Gault added 836 receiving yards. Matt Suhey and Emery Moorehead provided receiving help also.

Leslie Frazier intercepted 7 opponent throws. Mike Hartenstine led the defensive unit with 12 quarterback sacks, leading the way for a team which created 51 sacks.

Mike Ditka coached the team.
