The Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League ended the 1971 season with a record of 11 wins and 3 losses, finishing first in the NFL's East Division of the National Football Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 3-0.

Offensively, Dallas topped the league with 406 points. At the same time, the defense allowed 222 points. Duane Thomas ran for a team-best 793 yards for the Cowboys.

Roger Staubach passed for 1,882 yards, and Craig Morton spent time under center, too. Walt Garrison hauled in 40 passes, while Bob Hayes accumulated 840 receiving yards. Mike Ditka and Lance Alworth were targeted regularly as well.

The ball-hawking defense pounced on 51 turnovers, topping in the league. Herb Adderley intercepted 6 errant tosses from the opposition.

Tom Landry coached the team. The 1971 Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl.
