The Chargers netted 358 points, but the leaky defense allowed 462, most in the league. Dan Fouts passed for 2,975 yards, and Ed Luther spent time under center as well. Kellen Winslow grabbed 88 passes for 1,172 yards. Charlie Joiner provided receiving help also.
Chuck Muncie carried the ball for a team-best 886 yards for San Diego.
Danny Walters intercepted 7 opponent throws. Linden King sacked quarterbacks 8 times.
