The Black Hawks scored 332 goals and surrendered 363. Al Secord netted 44 goals for Chicago, while Grant Mulvey, Tom Lysiak, Doug Wilson and Denis Savard each tallied 30 or more also. Denis Savard contributed 87 assists. Tony Esposito topped the squad with 19 wins, and Murray Bannerman registered a 4.17 goals against average, pacing goalies with significant playing time.

Keith Magnuson and Bob Pulford coached the team. The 1981-82 Chicago Black Hawks lost in the NHL conference finals.
