Wayne Stephenson topped the squad with 20 wins, while Bernie Parent added 15 or more wins, too. Bernie Parent recorded a 2.70 goals against average, pacing regularly-used goaltenders.

Bob McCammon and Pat Quinn coached the team. The 1978-79 Philadelphia Flyers lost in the NHL quarter-finals.
