The Auburn Mets of the New York-Pennsylvania League ended the 1965 season with a record of 73 wins and 55 losses, finishing second in the NYPL.

The Mets led the league with 740 runs, ignited by 175 home runs. Auburn surrendered 653 runs. Bruce Fitzpatrick paced the team with 27 home runs, while Al Yates, Dave Allen, Greg Goossen and Jan Firek each walloped 20 or more as well. Bruce Fitzpatrick recorded 89 runs batted in. Greg Goossen topped batters with significant playing time with a .305 average. Bill Denehy and Paul Alspach paced the squad with 13 wins each, and Bill Denehy recorded a 2.78 ERA, best among qualifying pitchers.
