The Albany Polecats of the South Atlantic League ended the 1992 season with a record of 72 wins and 70 losses, finishing third in the league's South Division.

The Polecats scored 601 runs and yielded 555 runs. Shane Andrews led Albany with 25 home runs, and Cliff Floyd walloped 15 or more, too. Cliff Floyd drove in 97 runs and topped batters with significant playing time by hitting .304. Rod Pedraza paced the squad with 13 wins, while Rick DeHart recorded a 2.46 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Shane Andrews, Yamil Benítez, Jolbert Cabrera, Rick DeHart, Cliff Floyd, Brian Looney, Alberto Reyes and Ugueth Urbina were all players from the 1992 Albany Polecats who played in the Majors during their careers.

Lorenzo Bundy served as manager.
