The Pirates scored 644 runs and conceded 528 runs. Ed Hartman drove in 72 runs and topped all regular batters by hitting .285. Joe Pacholec led the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 2.07 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Wes Chamberlain, Carlos García, Steve Carter, Ben Shelton, Willie Smith, Moisés Alou, Orlando Merced, Keith Shepherd and Paul Miller were all players from the 1988 Augusta Pirates who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
