The Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League ended the 1999 season with a record of 64 wins and 77 losses, finishing sixth in the league's Central Division.

The Tourists scored 701 runs and surrendered 743 runs. Jeff Winchester led Asheville with 18 home runs, and Matt Holliday walloped 15 or more, too. Javier Colina drove in 81 runs. Juan Pierre paced all regular batters by connecting at a .320 clip. Justin Carter topped the squad with 13 wins and a team-best 3.56 ERA, best among regular hurlers.

René Reyes, Luke Hudson, Jermaine Van Buren, Jason Jennings, Choo Freeman, Juan Pierre, Aaron Cook, Matt Holliday and Juan Uribe were all players from the 1999 Asheville Tourists who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.

Jim Eppard served as manager.
