The Asheville Tourists of the South Atlantic League ended the 2008 season with a record of 83 wins and 56 losses, finishing second in the league's South Division.

The Tourists scored 693 runs and allowed 582 runs. Jeff Cunningham led Asheville with 18 home runs, while Brian Rike and Kevin Clark walloped 15 or more also. Darin Holcomb drove in 102 runs and topped batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .318 clip. Connor Graham paced the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 2.26 ERA, best among regular hurlers.

Bruce Billings, Everth Cabrera, Jhoulys Chacín, Edgmer Escalona, Christian Friedrich, Shane Lindsay, Matt Reynolds and Ryan Speier were all players from the 2008 Asheville Tourists who played in the Majors during their careers.

Joe Mikulik served as manager.
