The Buffalo Bisons of the American Association ended the 1987 season with a record of 66 wins and 74 losses, finishing fifth in the AA.

The Bisons plated 786 runs and yielded 856 runs, most in the circuit. Dave Clark walloped 30 home runs for Buffalo, while Jay Bell, Eddie Williams, Doug Frobel, Don Lovell, Rod Allen and Randy Washington each swatted 15 or more, too. Rod Allen recorded 92 runs batted in. Dave Clark led all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .340. Bryan Oelkers topped the squad with 11 wins, and John Farrell recorded a 5.83 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
