The Calgary Cannons of the Pacific Coast League ended the 1985 season with a record of 71 wins and 70 losses, finishing second in the league's North Division.

The Cannons plated 789 runs, tops in the circuit. Calgary conceded 787 runs, most in the league. Danny Tartabull walloped 43 home runs for the team, while Kevin King, Pat Casey and Ricky Nelson each swatted 15 or more as well. Danny Tartabull accounted for 109 RBI. John Moses led all regular batters by hitting .321. Dave Tobik topped the squad with 12 wins, and Joe Whitmer recorded a 4.9 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
