The Charlotte Hornets of the Tri-State League ended the 1951 season with a record of 100 wins and 40 losses, finishing first in the TSL.

The Hornets scored 940 runs, best in the league. Charlotte conceded 567 runs, the lowest total in the circuit. Frank Campos led all regular batters by connecting at a .368 clip. Levi Fleshman topped the squad with 20 wins, while Jerry Lane, too added 15 or more wins, too Bob Danielson recorded a 2.39 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Frank Campos, Dizzy Sutherland, Cal Ermer, Harley Grossman, Bruce Barmes, Bob Oldis, Jerry Lane and Bobby Estalella were all players from the 1951 Charlotte Hornets who played in the Majors during their careers.

Cal Ermer served as manager.
