The Clinton LumberKings of the Midwest League ended the 2008 season with a record of 78 wins and 59 losses, finishing first in the league's Western Division.

The LumberKings plated 668 runs, tops in the circuit. Clinton gave up 609 runs. Jonathan Greene paced the team with 21 home runs, while Ian Gac and Mitch Moreland walloped 15 or more also. Mitch Moreland accounted for 99 RBI and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .324 clip. Blake Beavan led the squad with 10 wins and a team-best 2.38 ERA, leading regular hurlers.
