The Carlsbad Potashers of the Longhorn League ended the 1954 season with a record of 87 wins and 52 losses, finishing third in the LL.

The Potashers scored 1110 runs and surrendered 883 runs. Ike Jackson led Carlsbad with 26 home runs, while Carroll Gholson, Pedro Osorio and Elias Osorio each walloped 15 or more also. Ike Jackson drove in 153 runs and topped all regular batters by connecting at a .383 clip. Robert Weaver paced the squad with 21 wins, plus Don Fornall and Merlin Williams, too added 15 or more wins, too Robert Weaver recorded a 4.14 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances. Pat McLaughlin served as manager.
