The Columbia Reds of the South Atlantic League ended the 1950 season with a record of 83 wins and 70 losses, finishing third in the SAL.

The Reds scored 723 runs and yielded 755 runs. Johnny Temple led all regular hitters with a .322 average. Ralph Erwin topped Columbia with 17 wins, while Moe Savransky, Bill Carroll and Clarence Zieser each also added 15 or more victories also Moe Savransky recorded a 2.25 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Bob Hazle, Moe Savransky, Charlie Ripple, Johnny Temple, Bill McGhee, Bob Nieman and Jim Pruett were all players from the 1950 Columbia Reds who played in the Majors during their careers.
