The Columbus RedStixx of the South Atlantic League ended the 2001 season with a record of 77 wins and 59 losses, finishing first in the league's Southern Division.

The RedStixx plated 618 runs and conceded 568 runs. Corey Smith paced Columbus with 18 home runs, while Ryan Church and Henry Pichardo walloped 15 or more, too. Corey Smith drove in 85 runs. Willy Taveras led all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .271 clip. Jason Davis topped the team with 14 wins and a team-best 2.7 ERA, leading regular hurlers.

Jason Davis, Eric Crozier, Ryan Church, Willy Taveras, Derek Thompson, Joe Inglett, Fernando Cabrera and Héctor Luna were all players from the 2001 Columbus RedStixx who played in the Majors during their careers.
