The Durham Bulls of the Carolina League ended the 1962 season with a record of 89 wins and 51 losses, finishing first in the CL.
The Bulls topped the circuit with 779 runs, fueled by 132 home runs. Durham surrendered 633 runs. Tommy Murray paced the squad with 26 home runs, while Rusty Staub and Walt Matthews walloped 15 or more as well. Rusty Staub drove in 93 runs and topped batters with significant playing time with a .293 average. Wally Wolf led the team with 16 wins and a team-best 2.87 ERA, leading hurlers with significant time on the mound.
