The Dayton Dragons of the Midwest League ended the 2003 season with a record of 61 wins and 78 losses, finishing sixth in the league's East Division.

The Dragons scored 580 runs and gave up 639 runs. Ryan Fry led Dayton with 15 home runs Kevin Howard drove in 75 runs and topped hitters with significant playing time by hitting .285. Edward Valdez paced the squad with 11 wins, while Juan Frias recorded a 3.54 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Todd Coffey, Miguel Pérez, Ryan Hanigan, Carlos Guevara, Jimmy Haynes, Chris Booker and Joey Votto were all players from the 2003 Dayton Dragons who played in the Majors during their careers.
