The El Paso Sun Kings of the Texas League ended the 1962 season with a record of 80 wins and 60 losses, finishing first in the TL.

The Sun Kings plated 998 runs, tops in the circuit. El Paso conceded 848 runs. Jerald Robinson walloped 36 home runs for the squad, while Charles Teuscher, Cap Peterson, Tim Talton, Carl Boles and Charlie Dees each added 15 or more, too. Cap Peterson drove in 130 runs. Charlie Dees led all regular batters by connecting at a .348 clip. Lazaro Gomez topped the team with 15 wins and a team-best 4.32 ERA, leading hurlers with significant time on the mound.
