The Generals scored 644 runs and yielded 706 runs. Paul Foster led Fayetteville with 18 home runs and drove in 93 runs. Phil Clark paced all regular hitters with a .295 average. Darrin Hursey topped the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 3.11 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Scott Aldred, Torey Lovullo, Mike Schwabe, Ron Rightnowar, Phil Clark, Randy Nosek and Milt Cuyler were all players from the 1987 Fayetteville Generals who played in the Majors during their careers.
