The Fayetteville Highlanders of the Carolina League ended the 1954 season with a record of 86 wins and 51 losses, finishing first in the CL.

The Highlanders scored 733 runs and yielded 615 runs. James Pokel walloped 38 home runs for Fayetteville, and Jack Hussey added 15 or more, too. Jack Hussey drove in 115 runs and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .322. Albert Cleary led the team with 18 wins, while Jim Foxworth contributed 15 or more wins, too Claude Voiselle registered a 3.09 earned run average, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Aaron Robinson played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Fayetteville Highlanders to do so.
