The Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League ended the 2009 season with a record of 63 wins and 76 losses, finishing seventh in the league's Northern Division.

The Crawdads plated 626 runs and allowed 672 runs. Erik Morrison and Cristian Santana paced Hickory with 18 home runs apiece., while Doug Hogan and Mike Bianucci walloped 15 or more as well. Erik Morrison drove in 66 runs. Matt West topped batters with significant playing time by hitting .234. Yoon-Hee Nam paced the team with 9 wins, and Carlos Pimentel registered a 2.93 earned run average, tops among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
