The Lakewood BlueClaws of the South Atlantic League ended the 2005 season with a record of 56 wins and 83 losses, finishing eighth in the league's North Division.

The BlueClaws scored 625 runs and allowed 702 runs. Ryan Frith paced Lakewood with 15 home runs Sam Orr recorded 64 runs batted in. Mike Dzurilla led batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .320 clip. Nate Johnson topped the squad with 12 wins, while Derek Griffith registered a 3.96 earned run average, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Tim Worrell, J. A. Happ, Brad Harman, Carlos Carrasco, Greg Golson, Joe Bisenius, Kyle Kendrick and Jason Jaramillo were all players from the 2005 Lakewood BlueClaws who played in the Majors during their careers.
