The Lake County Captains of the South Atlantic League ended the 2008 season with a record of 75 wins and 65 losses, finishing fourth in the league's North Division.

The Captains plated 647 runs and conceded 548 runs. Karexon Sanchez paced Lake County with 12 home runs Matt Brown drove in 75 runs and topped all regular batters with a .308 average. Josh Judy led the squad with 12 wins, while Ryan Miller recorded a 3.74 ERA, leading hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Chris Archer, Roberto Hernández, Jake Westbrook, Paolo Espino, Joe Borowski, Matt McBride, Vinnie Pestano, Josh Judy and John Gaub were all players from the 2008 Lake County Captains who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
