The Lincoln Chiefs of the Illinois-Iowa-Indiana League ended the 1960 season with a record of 71 wins and 66 losses, finishing second in the IIIL.

The Chiefs scored 615 runs, worst in the league, and yielded 655 runs. Manly Johnston paced Lincoln with 23 home runs and accounted for 83 RBI. Don Buford led all regular hitters by hitting .289. Ronald Woods topped the team with 17 wins, while Alan Brice recorded a 2.42 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Bob Locker, Charlie Lindstrom, Dennis Higgins, Dan Osinski, Al Weis, Jim Campbell, Dean Look, Don Buford and Alan Brice were all players from the 1960 Lincoln Chiefs who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.

Ira Hutchinson served as manager.
