The Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League ended the 1999 season with a record of 73 wins and 67 losses, finishing second in the league's East Division.

The Lugnuts paced the league with 822 runs, sparked by 147 home runs. Lansing allowed 750 runs. Corey Patterson led the team with 20 home runs, while Jeff Goldbach, Tony Schrager, Hee-Seop Choi and Tydus Meadows each walloped 15 or more, too. Corey Patterson accounted for 79 RBI and topped all regular batters by hitting .320. Carlos Zambrano paced the squad with 13 wins, and Rick Palma recorded a 2.95 ERA, best among regular hurlers.
