The Las Vegas Wranglers of the Sunset League ended the 1947 season with a record of 73 wins and 67 losses, finishing third in the SL.
The Wranglers led the league with 1261 runs, spearheaded by 268 home runs. Las Vegas yielded 1235 runs, most in the circuit. Calvin Felix crushed 52 homers for the team, while Roy Godfrey, Gail Jackson, Kenneth Myers, Dominic Castro, Sylvester Gregory, Olin Kelly and Paul Zaby each walloped 15 or more, too. Calvin Felix drove in 182 runs. Paul Zaby topped all regular batters by connecting at a .401 clip. Newt Kimball paced the team with 14 wins and a team-best 4.39 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
Newt Kimball played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Las Vegas Wranglers to do so.
