The Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Carolina League ended the 2005 season with a record of 61 wins and 79 losses, finishing fourth in the league's South Division.

The Pelicans plated 596 runs and allowed 661 runs. Jarrod Saltalamacchia paced Myrtle Beach with 19 home runs, and Matt Esquivel walloped 15 or more, too. Matt Esquivel and Jarrod Saltalamacchia each recorded 81 runs batted in. Jarrod Saltalamacchia led all regular hitters with a .314 average. Jake Stevens topped the squad with 10 wins and a team-best 4.93 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
