The Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the New York-Pennsylvania League ended the 2009 season with a record of 49 wins and 27 losses, finishing first in the league's Pinckney Division.

The Scrappers topped the league with 363 runs, spearheaded by 28 home runs. Mahoning Valley allowed 281 runs. Greg Folgia drove in 36 runs. Jordan Henry led hitters with significant playing time by hitting .286. Marty Popham and Preston Guilmet paced the team with 6 wins each, while Brett Brach recorded a 2.19 ERA, best among qualifying pitchers.

Preston Guilmet, Austin Adams, Jason Kipnis, Roberto Pérez, Vidal Nuño, Cory Burns and Tyler Sturdevant were all players from the 2009 Mahoning Valley Scrappers who played in the Majors during their careers.
