The Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League ended the 1961 season with a record of 71 wins and 83 losses, finishing fifth in the PCL.

The Beavers plated 676 runs and gave up 749 runs. Gene Oliver walloped 36 home runs for Portland and drove in 100 runs, while leading all regular batters by hitting .302. Don Choate topped the squad with 10 wins, and Glenn McMinn recorded a 3.65 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
