The Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League ended the 2004 season with a record of 75 wins and 64 losses, finishing second in the league's West Division.

The Chiefs topped the circuit with 759 runs. Peoria allowed 670 runs. John Santor, Terry Evans and Daric Barton paced the team with 13 home runs apiece. Daric Barton drove in 77 runs. Brendan Ryan led all regular batters with a .322 average. Stu Pomeranz paced the squad with 12 wins, while Mark Michael recorded a 3.37 ERA, leading regular hurlers.
