The Potomac Cannons of the Carolina League ended the 2004 season with a record of 67 wins and 72 losses, finishing second in the league's North Division.

The Cannons scored 690 runs and gave up 639 runs. Tony Blanco led Potomac with 17 home runs Kevin Howard drove in 79 runs. Ryan Hanigan paced all regular batters by hitting .296. Joel Barreto topped the squad with 10 wins, while Thomas Pauly recorded a 2.97 ERA, best among qualifying pitchers.
