The Potomac Nationals of the Carolina League ended the 2005 season with a record of 63 wins and 77 losses, finishing third in the league's North Division.

The Nationals scored 674 runs and yielded 696 runs. Kory Casto led Potomac with 22 home runs, while Salomon Manriquez, Josh Whitesell and Frank Diaz each walloped 15 or more as well. Kory Casto drove in 90 runs. Frank Diaz paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .312 clip. Brett Price and Mike O'Connor topped the squad with 10 wins each, and Mike O'Connor recorded a 3.55 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
