The Pittsfield Rangers of the Eastern League ended the 1973 season with a record of 75 wins and 61 losses, finishing first in the league's American Division.

The Rangers paced the league with 675 runs, spearheaded by 99 home runs. Pittsfield allowed 621 runs. Tom Robson walloped 38 home runs for the team, and Roy Howell added 15 or more, too. Tom Robson drove in 126 runs and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .316 clip. Art DeFilippis led the squad with 11 wins, while Jerry Bostic recorded a 4.28 ERA, tops among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Ken Pape, Jim Sundberg, Stan Thomas, Mike Cubbage, Tom Robson, Dick Such, Roy Howell, Lew Beasley and Dave Criscione were all players from the 1973 Pittsfield Rangers who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
