The Piedmont Boll Weevils of the South Atlantic League ended the 2000 season with a record of 90 wins and 47 losses, finishing first in the league's Northern Division.

The Boll Weevils allowed 492 runs, least in the league. Piedmont tallied 709 runs. Nate Espy paced the squad with 21 home runs, while Marlon Byrd and Russ Jacobson walloped 15 or more as well. Marlon Byrd drove in 93 runs. Jay Sitzman led all qualifying hitters on the roster with a .316 average. Frank Brooks and Ryan Madson topped the team with 14 wins each, and Ryan Madson recorded a 2.6 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
