The Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League ended the 1997 season with a record of 59 wins and 75 losses, finishing fourth in the league's West Division.

The River Bandits plated 586 runs, worst in the league, and allowed 682 runs. Kevin Burns paced Quad Cities with 20 home runs and drove in 86 runs, while leading all regular hitters by hitting .270. Jeriome Robertson topped the squad with 11 wins, and Bryan Braswell registered a 3.8 earned run average, tops among regularly-used pitchers.

Brian Dallimore, Jason Green, Tony McKnight, Aaron Miles, Wade Miller, Jeriome Robertson, Mike Rose and Chris Truby were all players from the 1997 Quad Cities River Bandits who played in the Majors during their careers.

Manny Acta served as manager.
