The Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League ended the 1999 season with a record of 77 wins and 62 losses, finishing first in the league's West Division.

The River Bandits scored 743 runs and gave up 649 runs. Michael Restovich and Brian McMillin led Quad Cities with 19 home runs apiece., and Jon Schaeffer walloped 15 or more, too. Michael Restovich recorded 107 runs batted in and topped batters with significant playing time by hitting .312. Juan Rincón paced the team with 14 wins and a team-best 2.92 ERA, best among qualifying pitchers.

Grant Balfour, Willie Eyre, Bobby Kielty, Juan Padilla, Michael Restovich, Juan Rincón, Saúl Rivera and Luis Rodríguez were all players from the 1999 Quad Cities River Bandits who played in the Majors during their careers.
