The Raleigh Capitals of the Carolina League ended the 1953 season with a record of 83 wins and 57 losses, finishing first in the CL.

The Capitals led the circuit with just 557 runs allowed. Raleigh scored 702 runs. Jack Hussey paced hitters with significant playing time by hitting .292. Bernard Rossman topped the squad with 20 wins, while Albert Cleary added 15 or more wins, too Bernard Rossman registered a 2.45 earned run average, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Bill Voiselle played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Raleigh Capitals to do so.

Herbert Brett served as manager.
