The Raleigh Capitals of the Carolina League ended the 1959 season with a record of 78 wins and 52 losses, finishing first in the CL.

The Capitals scored 724 runs and surrendered 663 runs. George Lewis led Raleigh with 17 home runs, and Carl Yastrzemski walloped 15 or more also. Carl Yastrzemski accounted for 100 RBI and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .377. Bill Spanswick paced the team with 15 wins and a team-best 2.49 earned run average, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Galen Cisco, Russ Gibson, Al Moran, Merlin Nippert, Dick Radatz, Chuck Schilling, Bill Spanswick and Carl Yastrzemski were all players from the 1959 Raleigh Capitals who played in the Majors during their careers.
