The Salem Buccaneers of the Carolina League ended the 1992 season with a record of 64 wins and 76 losses, finishing fourth in the league's North Division.

The Buccaneers tallied 589 runs and yielded 645 runs, most in the league. Keith Thomas paced Salem with 16 home runs, and Marty Neff walloped 15 or more, too. Midre Cummings accounted for 75 RBI and topped all regular batters by hitting .305. John Hope led the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 3.48 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Rich Robertson, Matt Ruebel, Rick White, Jason Christiansen, Jeff McCurry, Midre Cummings, John Hope and Rich Aude were all players from the 1992 Salem Buccaneers who played in the Majors during their careers.
