The Salisbury Braves of the Western Carolina League ended the 1961 season with a record of 64 wins and 38 losses, finishing first in the WCL.

The Braves scored 744 runs, most in the league. Salisbury conceded 558 runs. Fred White led the team with 12 home runs Tommy Murray drove in 83 runs. Aaron Pointer paced all regular hitters by hitting .402. John Lane topped the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 2.34 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.

Aaron Pointer played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Salisbury Braves to do so.
