The San Antonio Missions of the Texas League ended the 2008 season with a record of 75 wins and 65 losses, finishing third in the league's South Division.

The Missions led the league with just 574 runs allowed. San Antonio scored 672 runs. Kyle Blanks paced the team with 20 home runs, while Seth Johnston walloped 15 or more, too. Kyle Blanks drove in 107 runs and topped all regular batters with a .325 average. Mike Ekstrom paced the squad with 11 wins, and Matt Buschmann registered a 2.98 earned run average, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Wilton López, Mike Ekstrom, Kyle Blanks, Colt Morton, José Lobatón, Edwin Moreno, Mauro Zárate, Chad Huffman, Philip Barzilla, Sean Kazmar, Marshall McDougall, Greg Burke, Lance Zawadzki, Drew Macias, Mike Baxter, Matt Buschmann, Steve Garrison and Ernesto Frieri were all players from the 2008 San Antonio Missions who played in the Majors during their careers.
